So looking at some beta videos a long time ago, I saw that you have a drag and drop like system. So, will there still be an infinite amount of tilesets we can put in, and can we map those tilesets to what we want them to do(of course through pre-made stuff, and self-made code)? And, will we have to ONLY use the premade enemies(GFX replacements, too) or will we be able to CREATE objects that do things? And don't say I'm some loser for asking n00by questions that are obvious, but truely, my questions WEREN'T obvious. You'd think that such a good game maker as Stencyl would have that, but they're keeping it so secretive that it's hard to tell. Maybe this time I'll get Jon or something to post? Post: #1

You can use as many graphics and whatnot as you'd like. You can map them to make them do whatever you want them to (whatever that means ?_?)

You're most likely talking about this video seeing as all you have to do to find it is search "Stencyl" on YouTube. Jon and the testers have already told us how that is nothing like the current version of Stencyl and shouldn't be used as a refrence to what it looks like. It's severely outdated and the current version of Stencyl is far more superior to it. Yes you'll be able to use all the tilesets and custom objects you need, if it's 2D it can be made. You're in the metro area now Post: #3

First thing first, the videos you're referring to are obsolete. They were made before Stencyl was created.

The video archangel posted on Youtube is the only one currently available to the public, and I believe it's the only one that showed the editor.

- You can have as much tilesets as your computer can handle; - You can define collision shapes and animations for tiles; - Actors can be placed beforehand or created on the fly; About the "secrecy", this thread has an explanation (post #18). EDIT: I was slooowww... ?_? Post: #6

Stencyl was founded on early 2008 while the videos seen around the internet are older.

Like when you map keys to actions games that let you do that. Thought you'd get that. Irock Wrote: These questions are dumb because you can use Stencyl to make any 2D game you desire.
I based my questions on the evidence shown in the video. Who knows what they changed?! And no, Irock, I don't think you understand that there are MANY limitations for ANY game maker, including Stencyl. Blob Wrote: Stuff.
And Blob, I had read that, though wanted to make sure that at least THAT part had changed. Thanks for being nice about it, though(glares at Irock). Post: #8

The videos show an application Jon made some years ago. I think of it as a test or something like that. Only later Jon became serious about it and decided to create Stencyl along with Stephen.
